Internships

Florida Decides Healthcare is seeking applications for organization wide interns to participate in this historic effort to expand affordable healthcare access to 1.4 million Floridians. Interns will be trained by the Organizing Director and have opportunities to gain hands-on experience in volunteer management and training, coalition building, grassroots organizing, and advocacy work. This internship is geared towards building connections and skills for issues-based organizing and political campaigning.

 Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with staff on various organizing and data projects.
  • Participating in and eventually running volunteer trainings.
  • Facilitating petition collection through clear communication.
  • Creating content for various organization platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High level of personal responsibility and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain calm and positive demeanor under pressure.
  • Ability to work well with others and respect opinions.
  • Close attention to detail.
  • Comfort learning new software.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ease with public speaking
  • Social media skills
  • Previous campaign/political/organizing experience is a plus.

This is a volunteer role and does not provide compensation. The FDH Internship Program will provide opportunity for interns to have hands-on experience to compliment their undergraduate and graduate studies, and can sign off on community service hours or college credit. A 10-hour/week minimum commitment is required, with flexible hours depending on candidate availability.
